Volume = Length × Width × Thickness (all in meters for cubic meters, or feet for cubic feet). Always add 5-10% for wastage. For a 5m × 4m × 0.1m slab: Volume = 2 m³, plus 10% wastage = 2.2 m³.
M20 (most common for slabs/beams): 1 part cement : 1.5 parts sand : 3 parts aggregate (water/cement ratio ≈ 0.5). M15 (lean mix) for light applications: 1:2:4. M25 for heavy-duty/structural: 1:1:2.

Volume = π × r² × height, where r is the radius. For a column 0.3m diameter × 3m tall: r = 0.15m, V = π × 0.0225 × 3 = 0.212 m³. Add 5% for wastage.
